Maina Comprehensive School Breaks Ground for New Bathroom and Administration Block Construction

In a significant milestone for Maina Comprehensive School, the institution officially launched the construction of a 20-unit bathroom block and a modern administration block on January 27, 2025. The event marked a new chapter in the school's journey toward providing improved facilities for its growing student population of approximately 900 learners.

The groundbreaking ceremony was graced by the presence of about 400 parents, teachers, area government officials, and well-wishers who gathered to witness and celebrate the transformative project. The enthusiastic attendance underscored the strong community support for the school's development.

Key figures in the project included Charles Wangondu, President of the foundation spearheading the construction; Harrison Githu, the foundation's project manager; John Siglai, the head teacher of Muthengera Comprehensive School; and the school head teacher, Mrs. Josphine Tuiye. All four delivered insightful speeches, outlining the scope and importance of the initiative.

In his address, Charles Wangondu emphasized the need for modern and adequate facilities to support the school's educational mission. "This project is a testament to our commitment to providing a conducive learning environment for the children of this community. Proper sanitation and administrative structures are essential in fostering academic excellence," he remarked.

Harrison Githu provided technical details about the construction, assuring attendees that the project would adhere to the highest standards to meet the school's growing needs. The 20-unit bathroom block and the administration block will be designed to accommodate the school's current and future demands," Githu stated.

John Siglai, a distinguished guest from Muthengera Comprehensive School, shared his experiences on how proper infrastructure contributes to academic success. "At Muthengera, we've witnessed how improved facilities have positively impacted both students and teachers. Maina Comprehensive School is on the right path, and I commend this initiative," Siglai shared.

The ceremonial groundbreaking, led by Charles Wangondu, commenced at 9:00 a.m. Despite the extensive participation of parents and well-wishers, the foundation structures for the entire project were impressively completed by 3:00 p.m. The collective effort of attendees showcased a spirit of unity and collaboration that resonated throughout the day.

The event concluded with a vote of thanks from the school's administration, who expressed gratitude to the foundation, parents, and community members for their unwavering support.
